David (D.B.) Irvine comes to the practice of law after spending more than a decade in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Naval Engineering Officer. He first summered with The Breton Law Group in 2019 and joined the firm as an Associate after completing his articles in 2021. David is currently building a wide-ranging legal practice that includes both solicitor and litigator work.
David received his Juris Doctor and Marine Law Certificate from Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law in 2020. While in law school, he was a recipient of an Alistair Fraser Award for Criminal Justice and competed as a member of the school’s Jessup International Law Moot team, receiving an oralist prize at nationals. A dedicated volunteer with the A2J Free Legal Clinic throughout law school, he continues to work with a variety of not-for-profit organizations in his community.
